Hi, I want to separate quinoa from other grains in GCAM. How should I do it? Seeking experience sharing

Back in GCAMv6, there was a CMP led by @pkyle in which we expanded the crop list in GCAM. The detailed documentation was not released. But you can find the commits here: 88a4b59

In short, it depends on what level of detail you want to model. If entirely as an independent crop, changes are needed in land, production, trade, consumption (food & other), and related prices & emissions. You could also only add quinoa as a tech to produce OtherGrain if your study focuses on production, (assuming the trade & demand responses are similar between quinoa and the rest of OtherGrain).
