LucasArts intro video has distorted audio #897
Comments
Known issue already and the video itself is just so low quality. |
Ok, I did a quick search to see if I could find a similar issue but could not immediately find one. Feel free to close this one if it is a duplicate. |
I'm also getting this on Windows 7 64bit and with the JKA intro. The audio shouldn't be doing that, and doesn't in an RoQ player. Same thing with base JK2, but that just had "skippy" audio and not a gargled mess. Shared issue? |
Not aware of jka intro being anything wrong really. I know the old dfmod intro has always sounded poor though regardless of engine. |
The jk2 one is a lost cause on modern systems afaik. |
JK2MP isn't supported in this tree at all but that is strange ^^. |
Hello, I just compiled OpenJK and I confirm the JK2 sp audio distortion in the intro video. Do you know where the bug come from? |
I have the same issue with the JKA SP intro (ArchLinux 64-bit, built from git 911c537). |
Operating system and version:
(Arch) Linux 64-bit, OpenJK (JK2) built from Git master on 19 November.
Is this for single player or multiplayer?
Single player.
Description of the bug (and if possible, steps to reproduce the bug):
The JK2 SP intro video with the LucasArts logo exhibits slightly distorted audio. I can still make out the sound but it seems to skip audio in intervals of about ~75 ms.
I'm using PulseAudio, not sure if it's related. If there is any other information you need that may be useful in debugging such an issue, I'd be happy to provide it. It may be worth mentioning that the LucasArts intro video in JA does sound fluent and is not distorted.
It's not really a major issue or one that bothers me in particular, but I thought I'd report it anyway.
What did you expect to happen instead?
The sound to play fluently.
