Fatal exception when installing OPUS model from Web #97

When attempting to install "models from the OPUS model repository for the language pairs that I require" as a plug-in for use with SDL TRADOS Studio 2021, I receive the following message:
"Exception
A fatal exception occurred. See details in log file. Exception:
An exception occurred during the operation, making the result invalid.
Check InnerException for exception details."

I have attempted with and without Trados Studio running, to no avail and cannot find a log file to check for the exception details.
Could you let me know what I should do to resolve the issue please?
Thanks

Hi,

This could be due to many things. Could you post a screenshot of the error?

Here is the screenshot.
Are you able to open it to see the error message?
Thanks

Thanks. Does that happen when you click on the Install model button or some time after?

OPUS-CAT keeps log files in a directory that can be navigated to by pasting %localappdata%\opuscat\logs into the address bar in Windows explorer. Could you have a look if the latest log file contains more info on the error?

It happens immediately I click the Install model button.
I'm not very good with technology so I will try to find the log file, but it may take some time....!

Ok, I think I've found what you're asking for and have copied the data that I received each time I clicked on the Install model button. I tried once again at 23:17 with the same result and the data in the logbook is the same.

Ok, the issue is that a connection to the model repository cannot be established. Which Windows version are you using?

Windows 10 Pro
Should I upgrade to Windows 11?

Windows 10 should be fine, I'm not sure what the problem could be, probably some unusual network setting.

There's a new version of OPUS-CAT which might work for you, you can download it from here: https://github.com/Helsinki-NLP/OPUS-CAT/releases/download/opuscat_ubuntu/OpusCatMTEngine_v1.3.0_win-x64.zip

This is a pre-release version, so it might have some other bugs, but give it a go to see if it makes a difference.
