Should there be recognition of the difference between design time and runtime.
I would propose that in the SCI equation 'I' (Location based Carbon Emissions) has an irrelevance during design time. In order to clearly see the impact of code changes, the only variable should be those changes. I would therefore suggest that 'I' should be a constant when applying the equation during design time.
I'd also argue that I have little control over M at design time - although I recognise that architecture can influence this.
