The build script requires an environment variable called GITHUB_RELEASE_TOKEN, but the README never explains this variable. Is it a personal access token?

Sorry @andrewkaufman just saw this - it should be optional now unless you're publishing the build. It's only required if you want to use the --upload 1 flag to upload to github. It is indeed one of those there tokens. We should document it better.
