As of this season, blocked/fumbled/intercepted extra point attempts can be returned for a touchdown by the defensive team.

Will data now be kept on this? I know it is a rare event, but it is of interest.

That's a good point. I don't think it's a touchdown though, right? The defensive team gets two points, not 6?

But yeah, we'll definitely keep track of that if it's made available. I'm not sure if there's a defined list of all stat categories somewhere, so we might have to wait until it actually shows up in the JSON feed before we can add it to the database tables.

I could be wrong, but I thought i read that a return on a 2 point conversion is worth 2 points. But in some absurdly unlikely scenario where a safety is made on the play, it's worth 1 point (I can't really figure out how that would happen... I think it would be in the scenario where somehow the kicking team has the ball in their own endzone and gets tackled.) I'm curious if the system is set up for bot scenarios.

| N.F.L. Team Scoring Just 1 Point? Now It’s PossibleAmong the tweaks to N.F.L. rules for 2015 was one that went relatively unnoticed: A conversion after a touchdown can result in a safety, and is worth 1 point. |

(The conditions of 11-4-1 must be met.)(b) If a Try results in a touchdown by either team, two points are awarded.(c) If the Try results in what would ordinarily be a safety against either team, one point is awarded to the opponent.(d) If any play results in a touchback, the Try is unsuccessful, and there shall be no replay.(e) The Try ends when: (1) either team scores (2) the ball is dead by rule (3) a fumble by either team is recovered by a teammate of the fumbling player
