Use case :

I tried to backup savegames of "Sega Classic 3D collection". All its saves are stored in extdata folder.
When I ran checkpoint, I input 'A' create new save backup on it, then click "backup" with 'R'.
Then I uninstalled the game.
Of course I missed to backup the "extdata" folder (need to press 'X' to backup it also).
This procedure is stupid :

When I say "backup" save all game files : I don't care where there are. Backup all you need. Copy all necessary files.

It will allow to avoid "false" backup.

Regards.

There are several things going on here. First off, ExtData and saves are fundamentally different. ExtData is not normally used for save data; it's often used for additional stuff, like battle videos in Pokémon games, or some sort of online distribution data. Because of that, there's a very valid reason that you wouldn't want to back up a game's ExtData as part of a normal save backup: it's not part of the save.
Second: nowhere in Checkpoint does it ever say "Save all". If you did not realize the effects of your actions because you didn't know how that specific game uses saves, that is not Checkpoint's (or our) fault.
Third: because of the disconnected nature of saves and ExtData, there's no good way to "link" the two backups even if we did add some sort of "backup both the save and ExtData" option. Without some sort of linking system, there would be no way to restore a dual backup like that.

Ok but I am just asking for a macro button in fact.
Name it "save both" and it does what I do manually :
1-Select game
2-Name a new backup
3-Click "backup"
4-Press X for extdata
Repeat process 1 to 3 then exit checkpoint.

Like this my backup would have been sure. It is a cold backup then a cold restore. No risk.

Thanks.
