Hrothgar can wear a good amount of helmets. Pretty much any helm that fully covers the face can be worn. Newer helms that show the face (like this DRG helm) also seem to be working more these days.
Sometimes, however, it's best if they can't wear them at all depending on the set. And that's almost every set with a helmet that's compatible. The helmet itself is usually about the size of a hyur, and they slap it on a bulky Hrothgar body. It just looks so...bad. The helm in that screenshot doesn't look too bad though. I've seen far worse scaling.
Was excited to open up the merchant screen to try on all the Island Sanctuary gear and i'm now absolutely pissed that I still can't wear the hat. So lazy of them. It's frustrating that the most profitable game Squenix has still can't find the time to let their races wear a single hat.
It wouldn't. Keep trying to get headgear, but people shouldn't be accepting of the bare minimum implementation of said headgear. In my opinion.
Miqo'te are one thing, and their hats don't look good on them, but viera is another, as their ears are not only a customizable aspect, but a major feature of the race. You could AT LEAST try to pretend that the miqo'te's ears are just "tucked" in the helmet, but viera ears you can't. They are literally just cut off. Not a good look.
If it requires hat hair, probably not going to work for the foreseeable future. Not even cutting off ears will fix this, although with enough people in support, maybe they will just allow viera to not only not have ears, but be bald. They would get hats. Was excited to open up the merchant screen to try on all the Island Sanctuary gear and i'm now absolutely pissed that I still can't wear the hat. So lazy of them. the hairstyles they gave us this turn are so dry & "safe", why do we need 2 sets of pigtails (3 in total) and that weird wet looking short one? why wont they just add the mog station hairs if we purchased them?
Why not roe hair 8 or an aura hair- something a bit more fitting for a viera
this game has some of the blandest hairstyles ive seen in an mmo
i feel like a hair contest would just more of the same. straight textured hairs with hime bangs

Rather than being hand picked these base game styles are simply being added in order based on their file numbers in the game. I posted the list a couple times already. They aren't purposefully choosing dry, safe hairstyles - this is just the order they're naturally in and I assume they'll continue to be added in order starting with the basic ponytail in 5.3. The modern aesthetics styles are definitely being chosen based on popularity, however. They're adding two popular unlockable styles and one wild card with each patch.the hairstyles they gave us this turn are so dry & "safe", why do we need 2 sets of pigtails (3 in total) and that weird wet looking short one? why wont they just add the mog station hairs if we purchased them?

I would let go of any wishes to get racial exclusive styles like Roe hair 8 or any au'ra hair. Each race has styles unique to them including Viera. The styles we're getting are the ones shared by all races.
The one you described as "that weird wet looking short one," is one of the most hideous styles in the game. Literally no one wears it (because it's awful) and I'm baffled as to why they would waste the resources adding it.the hairstyles they gave us this turn are so dry & "safe", why do we need 2 sets of pigtails (3 in total) and that weird wet looking short one? why wont they just add the mog station hairs if we purchased them?

Player : フェアリーのミラプリも作ってるんですか?
(Any plan on Fairies glamour?)
Yoshi'p Sampo: フェアリーはエギではないので、予定がないです。残念ながら。
(Since Fairies aren't Egi so, No.)
The recent patch is a great in my opinion. Just made a new Viera character with the new added hairstyle. I know that a lot of people wanted helmets and hats to be added, and they're adding them but I'm more happy on the fact that they're adding more hairstyles for both the Viera and Hrothgar.
Same here bro/sis. I'm very used to the idea on not caring about helmets/hats in my opinion since I always hide them to show their hairstyle. I'm not saying that SE shouldn't start adding more helmets/hats since other people want them.Imo these are not comparable problems. Viera aren't earless with new hairstyles and never needed to Fantasia just to change between a couple existing styles, they got a big update today with some unexpected things. This is a niche scenario in which people who play Viera should have the option to choose if they'll tolerate having their ears covered or not. I would rather have the choice than the choice be made for me by revoking all visibility of a piece of gear. People who want helmets should have the ability to use them even if it offers some compromises and I don't think it's fair to suggest that we have to take all or nothing. We all probably prioritize different things. For you headgear might be a big deal but to me it isn't. I'm heavily in the camp that cares about hair but could live without most headgear and not notice or experience any FOMO.
