New Delhi | Jagran Lifestyle Desk: Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti 2022 is one of the significant days for all Sikhs as he was the tenth and last Sikh Guru after Guru Tegh Bahadur. Guru Gobind Singh was a spiritual master, poet, warrior and philosopher. During his tenure as a leader, he founded the Sikh warrior community called Khalsa in 1699 and introduced the Five Ks, the five articles of faith that Khalsa Sikhs wear at all times. Also, he is credited for the one who finalised and enshrined the Guru Granth Sahib as Sikhism's primary scripture and eternal Guru.
Every year, on January 9, the Sikh community celebrates Guru Gobind Singh's birthday anniversary by remembering and honouring his work. Also known as Prakash Parv, he was born on December 22, 1666, but the date is decided according to the Nanakshahi calendar.
