do you think it would be appropriate to put a copy of the AAA symbol on the page? as a way of demonstrating that way that the name is abbreviated?
- I don't see why not as long as the copyright (or fair use) permits it. gren 20:54, 9 July 2005 (UTC)
I'm not sure if it is correct to label this band as ska/punk
I only have one album, so I'm not sure if it is indicitive of all their music. But they only have 2 or 3 really truly ska-punk songs on the album, and the rest have some minor ska influence. I'd actually say it leans closer to hardcore punk (listen to the drums most of all), with ska influence. What do ya'll think? Are their older albums more ska-ish? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 208.191.83.139 (talk) 14:48, 13 December 2006 (UTC).
On their website, they've labeled themselves as Punk / Ska / Hardcore. --65.185.191.51 19:20, 10 February 2007 (UTC)kickasskat
Or you could just label them "Skacore." See, I'm a problem solver. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.97.0.172 (talk) 23:49, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- They have lots of songs with happy bouncing horns on their other albums, so...65.183.135.231 (talk) 16:51, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Current status?
Last I heard (a year ago), Danny Lore was in the hospital with kidney (liver?) disease, and there's been no news since. Is he dead or what? Anyone know?65.183.135.231 (talk) 16:53, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Compilation appearances
An IP editor's restored the long list of compilation appearances I removed a few months ago. As I said at the time, the long list would seem to fall foul of WP:INDISCRIMINATE, though if any of the compilations are individually notable they could probably be listed. I'd be interested to know what others think. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 18:54, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
- I agree that the compilation list is overkill. It's a level of depth beyond what Wikipedia covers in artist discographies (see any other article), not to mention that it isn't sourced. czar 04:16, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Just because you agree with it doesn't mean that the person in question (Arms & Hearts) isn't being overkill about editing and micromanaging this page 2600:1700:8140:29C0:5D64:723:AF6D:3516 (talk) 16:11, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- you're telling me that at the end of this discography that every single one of those appearance is notable? I could link you to 1,000 more artists that show every compilation appearance if you need it, and want to go through and delete everybody's "overkill" compilations lists 2600:1700:8140:29C0:5D64:723:AF6D:3516 (talk) 16:14, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
Hatnote
An IP editor has removed the hatnote for Against All Authorities from this article and the corresponding hatnote from that article. While I appreciate their expanation, I'm not convinced that the topic of that article is unlikely to ever be confused with the target of this one. It's fairly easy for me to imagine a situation where a reader is looking for an article on the Onyx EP but has the title slightly wrong and ends up here. The suggestions that the hatnote was added by someone associated with Onyx, that either hatnote serves as advertising, and that Against All Authorities owns a version of Wikipedia (?) are all obviously silly. I'd be interested to know what others think. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 18:38, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Ilikesealife: You've reverted me on this and the above matter (re compilation appearances) without explanation. Could you explain why you think the hatnote isn't useful, and the list of compilation appearances is? – Arms & Hearts (talk) 17:07, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- I'd like to know why you removed compilation appearances (clearly a lot of work was done in that matter) without valid or clear explanation. They are notable appearances by a notable band. More notable than Onyx who you are trying to add a link to their very obscure release that has barely been searched for on google. (I've checked, have you?)
- Why not format the compilation appearances, instead of removing all of that work? It reeks of hyper-focusing, considering you are directly connected to a person that interviewed them for a podcast recently. The deleting and addition are being regarded with suspicion at this point. Ilikesealife (talk) 06:41, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Ilikesealife: Apologies if my edit summary wasn't clear. The issue is that WP:INDISCRIMINATE advises against extensive lists of information without context – encyclopaedia articles should ideally consist mostly of prose in which we can contextualise things more effectively. WP:NOTDIRECTORY is also relevant here. They're absolutely not "notable appearances": neither the songs nor the albums (with one exception) appear to be notable. As such, this isn't a problem that can be resolved by formatting things differently. I have no idea what you mean or who you're referring to when you say I'm

, but I'm fairly sure you're mistaken. If you could also explain your thinking on the separate matter of the hatnote that would be appreciated too. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 10:54, 21 January 2023 (UTC)- It sounds like you are being subjective and have a personal hyperfixation on this band that isn't explained by just using wikipedia rules to change what you want... 2600:1700:8140:29C0:5D64:723:AF6D:3516 (talk) 16:08, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

- How is it easy for you to imagine a situation where a reader is looking for (unknown artist) Onyx Against All Authorities EP, but not for notable artist Against All Authority's notable compilation appearances? You're explanations contradict eachother for why you want to delete and add to this page - furthering the narrative that you have a personal subjection towards this band for whatever reason. 2600:1700:8140:29C0:5D64:723:AF6D:3516 (talk) 16:10, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- The hatnote isn't only for someone looking for the Onyx EP but for readers who mistake one phrase for another. It's common to use a hatnote to distinguish between them. Also a reminder to assume good faith and refrain from making personal attacks. czar 03:25, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- Looking at the sources, I've redirected the Onyx EP article because it lacked significant coverage in multiple reliable, independent sources. (?) We won't need the hatnote here anymore. czar 03:34, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
