Is xanthophyll a pigment that is used in painting, etc.?

xanthophyll

[edit]

some idiot wrote something about xanthophyll. The real chemical (or molecular formula) is C40H56O2 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.55.9.63 (talk) 18:36, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merged with Xanthophyll cycle

[edit]

did a straight text dump. I have almost no knowledge in this subject area so it may need the attention of someone who can harmonize the article. --Dave1g 18:28, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

[edit]

The jury is still out on the various mechanisms by which Light harvest complexes produce quenching sites. Although the violaxanthin-zeaxanthin cycle has been associated with the highly quenched state of LHC2 it is unclear what its exact role is.

xantofylls are not used to paint.

Allso, chlorophyll is not denatured by the cold. Denaturation is a term reserved for proteins; chlorophyll quite simply ceases to be replenished and is thus the green pigment deteriorates. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.83.247.134 (talk) 15:51, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
