editMetaphoric use of boj (“to drive”) (see dëboj), from Proto-Albanian *bāgnja, related to Lithuanian běgti (“to run”), Latvian bêgt (“id.”), Old Prussian begeyte (“id.”) and Greek φέβομαι (févomai, “to be put to flight, flee”). Usually attested in the passive form bohet.[1]
