Own member pages?
editI'm suggesting that you guys (I'm not a fan) make individual member pages for each of them. It seems unnecessary to include such in-depth information about the members, such as what dramas they've starred in, on their band page. I could do it (even though I know nothing about them) if no one wants to, but I want to ask everyone who has worked on this article first. -- Tydus Arandor 06:19, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- I haven't worked on this article, but I'm working now on the German one. If you've got spare time and are willig to do this I suggest it's best to make member pages and clean this article from anything not directly related to only KAT-TUN. This article is somewhat messy. --Franczeska 20:59, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Obviously there are already member's pages, just the information needs to be inserted there. --Franczeska 21:02, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- If I'm seeing it correctly, only one member (Tatsuya Ueda) has a page right now. Kamenashi's only redirects to this article. -- Tydus Arandor 08:03, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Aight, I've just taken something around an hour to convert the member information (only their paragraphs, not their CMs and everything else yet) and put them in a newly created page for them. I'll move the other things another day (if it's not moved by the time anyone spots it, please help!). -- Tydus Arandor 06:19, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- If I'm seeing it correctly, only one member (Tatsuya Ueda) has a page right now. Kamenashi's only redirects to this article. -- Tydus Arandor 08:03, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Names
editIt seems awkward, especially in the "Commercials" section, that all members except Taguchi Junnosuke are called by their last names, especially as it has been confirmed that he is called "Taguchi-kun" not "Junnosuke-kun" by most of his friends. Is there any reason for the non-standardization of the given name vs. surname in this case? 72.66.106.237 22:56, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Any living person should be referred to by their last names (unless if they share the same last name, I assume), per the Manual of Style for biographies. If you didn't know, this article is extremely messy compared to a "regular" article. This first name last name deal is probably just caused by a fan who is not familiar with Wikipedia's formatting. I do sometimes help cleanup the page, but it is hard as I am not actually a fan. Please help clean this page up if you can! -- Tydus Arandor 23:27, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Correct. It is not encyclopedic to refer to a person as "-kun", "-san", "-chan", or even by their nicknames. All of these are usually used by fans, and should be avoided anytime you write on Wikipedia. Groink 09:03, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
What way should the names be used, if other than last name only? There's quite a few places where full names are used, but some are in Japanese format (family name, first) while other are in Western style (first, family name).

How much is "poorly sourced" ?
editContentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libellous.
There's an attempt to post about a plagiarism allegation on KAT-TUN's wiki when there's only a few internet sources reporting. No TV reports and no newspapers mention about this. So I wonder how much is the word "poorly sourced" stated in wikipedia rules. I have seen other artists with plagiarism mention in their biography ONLY when there're TV reports, newspapers, or legal actions about those incidents. But there's none of those available in this case. Could anyone please clarify ? Thanks.Kmwolm (talk) 17:57, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Concerning plagiarism allegation topic
editI'm afraid there's no powerful source provided. The Yahoo Japan link is not an original article by Yahoo Japan as you can see it's written by 【ITmedia】 and there's absolutely not any other powerful sources. I wonder if it's fair enough to write this down their biography when it hasn't been proved legally (that's why there's been no mention in powerful sources).

- Clip not by myself, highlighting the striking similarities between the tracks. Substantiates the plagiarism claim.
- Likewise.
- Linked by Yahoo! Japan, for notability.

Plagiarism allegations
editOkay, kids, stop defacing the plagiarism allegations now. It's not the first 10 seconds that sound similar. Comparison videos show striking similarity during over a minute, or, in other words, over the course of the entire first part of NEVER x OVER. Listen to this[1] and tell me it's just the first ten seconds that sound alike. Tempo. Key. Chords. Everything down to the damned synth is alike. Apparently, I can't revert anymore, so someone else do it for me please.
Also, expressions like "anyway..." have no place on Wikipedia. The last sentence of the section should be reformulated to suit Wikipedia's writing standards.
I suggest the following course of action. Since User:Curar a seems to only want to inject bias and uncertainty (without any sources to validate his claims), all of his edits that degrade the quality of the article should be reverted, and the article should be locked to prevent further degrading by KAT-TUN fans who only want to understate the gravity of the incident.
Onlysoaa (talk) 19:26, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- Don't start quarreling over the similarities or not here. What I focus is that I think it's not notable since it's not widely mentioned by powerful sources. Only anime, game, vocaloid fans know about this. That's why I don't think it's notable enough to write on a biography. And you think it's notable. So whatever.Kmwolm (talk) 19:50, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Deeply apologize for my poor grammar. Due to the reverted rule, I cannot do the correction, too. Certainly, there are no KAT-TUN members credited in the melody arrangement.
https://www.j-storm.co.jp/kat_tun/disco/single/s_13.html
Although Ueda Tatsuya has his name as a composer, his part is not in the similarity you mentioned.
Respectfully yours Curar a (talk) 19:54, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- Here's the solution. I'm going to create a page about Change Ur World single. Do you think it's more appropriate to state what you wrote in the Change Ur World page since NEVER X OVER is a b-side to the single. And for your satisfaction, I'll leave a notice on KAT-TUN page for those who are interested in your info.Kmwolm (talk) 20:12, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
