Information about the Galaxie for 1967 wrong?
editI think that information about the Galaxie for 1967 must be wrong. My dad had one, and it definitely said Galaxie on it - "Galaxie 500" (unless that is a different car, but I don't think so). 70.49.241.155
- I think the article refers only to the former "Galaxie 500 7 Litre" as no longer carrying the Galaxie name in '67. However, I've never heard of or seen this 7 Liter model designation, so I'm going to be skeptical until a picture or a solid source for it turns up. RivGuySC 04:39, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- Believe me they ("7 liter") exist. I've seen several of them in the Los Angeles area, usually hanging around gas stations.76.166.245.241 (talk) 15:12, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
1963 1/2 ford galaxie fastback
editWhy are they refered to as a 1963 "1/2"? And was it just the change in the top that made the difference? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.255.29.38 (talk) 16:52, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
As I understand it the body shape (rear window) changed half way through the year. The reason for this was that the early shape, known as box tops were not doing well at NASCAR races. By making the fastback the aerodynamics improved considerably and the racing results improved. So the fastback is the 63 1/2 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.69.225.32 (talk) 14:02, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie
editWill a 1964 Ford Galaxie four door windshield fit into a 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 XL two door?--Mollyandelvis (talk) 03:06, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
1968 Galaxie moved to Third Generation
editI moved the 1968 model from the Fourth generation to the Third generation heading. The 1968 is identical to the 1967 in chassis, engine, transmission, and all sheet metal behind the windshield. Even the windshield itself is the same. The principle differences are the grill and the side-by-side headlights. The Fourth generation is a completely new car. (I own a 1966, a 1967, and two 1968 Galaxie's).(LowET (talk) 14:33, 28 December 2009 (UTC))
inclusion as "muscle car"
editHere is a very popular muscle car gallery: https://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/ford-galaxie/ford-galaxie.shtml
The question was posed to Yahoo and thus answered: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100421160908AA8Ii68
Categorically, Howstuffworks also includes the Galaxie among muscle cars. https://musclecars.howstuffworks.com/classic-muscle-cars/1963-ford-galaxie-427.htm
Note: Many variations may not be considered a muscle car. That's ok. This is for inclusion and does not exclude the car from appearing in other categories as well.
Please comment here before removing the added category as this is considered a historically significant muscle car, especially among 1970s racing enthusiasts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Banzairun (talk • contribs) 20:09, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
400 "Cleveland" engine
edit- There was never a 400 c.i. "Cleveland" and this needs to be changed on the insert for the 4th series galaxie. The reference is the wikipedia article on Ford's 335 Engine Series. There was a 351M/400 category,a 351W,and the 351C (C for "Cleveland" to differentiate it from the W,Windsor motor)
- There was never a 400W and there was never a reason to call the 400 a "400M" either because there was just one 400 engine.I tried to change it but was unsuccessful.I challenge anyone to provide a ref. for a "400 Cleveland".BrianAlex (talk) 22:20, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

1961 Ford
editThe 1961 body was "reworked" but the front end basically copied the 1960 Mercury. 2800:150:115:13D4:FD58:CD98:8DCC:8D68 (talk) 14:19, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
