The XY Falcon was built from Oct 1970- March 1972

An HO version was also available, with front spoiler, the old Phase 2 engine was carried over from the XW which had 750 cfm carb, solid camshaft, lifters, bigger pushrods.
From May 1971 to Nov 1971, 300 Phase 3 GTHOs were made, they got the rear boot spoiler, also extractors, 780cfm carb, a revised camshaft and harmonic balancer producing 380bhp, 3 diff ratios were available to choose from.
Allan Moffat won the Hardie Ferodo 500 again in 1971, this time in a XY GTHO Phase III.
