Carol Ellen Wright (née Brooker; born 21 September 1960) is an English television personality and exhibitions organizer. She is best known as a former recurring cast member on the ITVBe reality television series The Only Way Is Essex (2011–2017).

Early life
editCarol Ellen Brooker was born at her parents home in West Ham, Essex, England on 21 September 1960.[1][2] She is the third and youngest daughter[3] to Charles Thomas Brooker (1930–2007) and his wife, Patricia Joan "Nanny Pat" (née Spicer; 1935–2015).[4][5][6][7] She weighed eight pounds.[3] She has two elder sisters[8][9][10] and two younger brothers.[11] Her maternal grandmother was part of the family who ran Chipperfield's Circus.[12]
Wright attended Tidal Basin School.[13][14] She attended South Park Primary School in Redbridge.[12]
Career
editWright made her debut as a producer on the drama film Let Him Be in 2008.[15]
Wright made her television debut on the second series of the ITV2 reality television series The Only Way Is Essex on 20 March 2011. She appeared as a supporting cast member until series 21, making her final appearance on 4 October 2017. She appeared on TOWIE Live and on two episodes of The Only Way Is Essex: All Back to Essex in 2014 and 2020, respectively. She appeared on 154 episodes.[16][17][18][19][20]
Wright worked as a exhibitions organizer before she was on The Only Way Is Essex.[2]
Wright attended the 2011 British Academy Television Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London on 22 May.[21] The Only Way Is Essex won the YouTube Audience Award.[22]
Wright appeared on the 11th episode in the 11th series of the ITV survival reality television series I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! on 25 November 2011, during a challenge. Her son, Mark, was the runner-up of the series. She appeared on The Coming Out Show, broadcast on 5 December 2011.[23]
Wright appeared with her daughter, Jess, on the final episode of the ITV game show Big Star's Bigger Star on 5 December 2018.[24]
Wright has made several appearances on the ITV talk show Loose Women.[25]
Personal life
editBrooker married Mark William Wright (born 19 December 1956)[26] in Barking & Dagenham on 13 August 1983, when she was 22 and he was 26.[27][28][29] They have four children together;[2] Jessica Sophia "Jess" Wright (born 14 September 1985),[30][31] Mark Charles Edward Wright (born 20 January 1987),[32][33] Joshua William "Josh" Wright (born 6 November 1989),[34][35] and Natalya Anne Patricia Wright (born 7 August 2000).[36][37] Her daughter-in-law is actress Michelle Keegan.[38][39] She has three grandsons.[40]
Wright underwent breast augmentation surgery in 2021.[41] She participated in the 2023 London Marathon, which she completed.[42]
