Résumé:
This goal of this project, which is being conducted by stakeholders from the CÉGEP du Vieux Montréal, Collège Montmorency, the Université du Québec à Montréal, and the Université de Montréal, is to establish a new collaboration-development model able to coordinate action throughout the higher-education network. Phase one of the project is designed to facilitate the transition between college and university, with a view to standardizing management of the administrative documents used in the orientation and integration of disabled students. This phase is also aimed at making students aware of the challenges involved in the transition. Phase two consists in identifying the approaches used in the integration and transition of so-called “emerging” populations; the goal of phase three is to better equip teachers to take account of the needs of these new populations. The author concludes by stressing that integrating these student populations raises cultural, social, educational, and legal questions the project is helping to answer.
