- And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

yea, they may forget,
yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands;
thy walls are continually before me. - But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
- Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it. - And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
- Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
- Children's children are the crown of old men;
and the glory of children are their fathers. - A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us.
- A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
- Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
- If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
- The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice:
and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. - My son, if thine heart be wise,
my heart shall rejoice, even mine. - A wise son maketh a glad father:
but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. - Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not;
neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity:
for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off. - Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
