Margaret Roper was the eldest daughter and favourite child of Sir Thomas More. He gave her the same education as his son, thus making her an accomplished writer and translator.
English: Margaret Roper (née More) (1505–1544) was an English writer and translator. She was the daughter of Thomas More and wife of William Roper. She translated one of Erasmus' works and collected her father's works. During More's imprisonment in the Tower of London, she was a frequent visitor to his cell, along with her husband.
