Michigan's Mason Graham Declares for 2025 NFL Draft; B/R's No. 2 Overall Prospect
December 10, 2024Michigan standout defensive tackle Mason Graham is entering the 2025 NFL draft.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Graham declared for the draft on Tuesday and has hired agents Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha to represent him.
"We expect Mason to get drafted in the top five picks," Rosenhaus told Schefter.
B/R's NFL scouting department has Graham ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in the upcoming draft, behind only Colorado star Travis Hunter.
The 21-year-old was named to the Freshman All-American team in his first season, was a second-team All-American in 2023 and made the All-Big Ten first team in each of the past two seasons.
B/R scout Matt Holder compared Graham's style of play to that of Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins in a scouting report of the Michigan star:
"Mason Graham has the potential to be one of the best defensive tackle prospects to come out of college in the last few years. His lack of elite size and length will keep him from being in the same category as Jalen Carter, but the Michigan product's combination of strength and athleticism gives him a high ceiling as a pro."
If Rosenhaus' belief that Graham will be a top-five pick comes true, he will be one of the highest-drafted defensive tackles in history. Ohio State's Dan Wilkinson is the last interior defender to go No. 1 overall when he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in 1994.
Ndamukong Suh was the No. 2 pick in the 2010 draft by the Detroit Lions. The last defensive tackle to be selected in the top five was Quinnen Williams by the New York Jets in 2019 (No. 3 overall).
Graham has been one of the best defensive players for the Wolverines since arriving in Ann Arbor in 2022. He has 18 tackles for loss and nine sacks in 39 games over the past three seasons.
In Michigan's upset win over Ohio State on Nov. 30, Graham recorded a single-game career-high seven total tackles. He was instrumental in holding the Buckeyes to 77 rushing yards on 26 carries.
