An effort to recall Commissioner Trenton Bowens in Benton Harbor, Michigan, from his position was launched in November 2013. The recall effort was triggered after Bowens voted "yes" to allow the city income tax proposal to be placed on the November 5 ballot. The measure was defeated by voters.[1][2] As of December 2015, this recall effort appeared to be abandoned and Ballotpedia discontinued active coverage. Bowens was previously the target of 2012 recall effort. The effort was later abandoned.

Recall supporters filed "an intent to recall" form on November 18, 2013 with Berrien County officials. A clarity hearing was scheduled for December 6. The petition language must be approved by the Berrien County Elections Commission before petition circulation can start.[3]
