Robert Dale Morgan (1912-2002) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois

Morgan was nominated to the Southern District of Illinois by President Lyndon Johnson on May 24, 1967, to a seat vacated by Frederick Mercer; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 12, 1967, and received commission that same day. From 1972-1979, he served as the chief judge. He served the Southern District of Illinois until he was reassigned to the Central District of Illinois on March 31, 1979. From 1979-1982, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on May 28, 1982. He served the Central District of Illinois until his death on May 29, 2002.[1] Morgan was succeeded in this position by Michael Mihm.
