Democrat Ellen Rosenblum defeated three opponents in the general election on November 6, 2012. Rosenblum was the incumbent heading into the general election, having been appointed in June 2012 to finish the unexpired of ex-Attorney General John Kroger, who resigned to become president of Reed College.[3]
