An effort to recall city council president Mary McFarland in Eagle, Idaho from her position was launched in April 2014.[1] The recall did not make it to the ballot.[2]
Recall proponent arguments
Recall proponents have accused McFarland of "rude behavior and a narrow view of her constituency." McFarland suggested that residents were upset about recent council decisions regarding the use of eminent domain to acquire land for a variety of projects. Recall organizer Jane Kramer agreed. "All those issues have certainly contributed to the situation that we find on hand here. Mary is ultimately to be held accountable in our minds because she has been elected to be president of the council," Kramer said.[1]
