An effort to recall Joshua Freeman from his position on the Flint, Michigan, City Council was launched in December 2011.[1] Freeman represents the city's 4th Ward. The recall effort did not result in a recall election

Reasons for recall

Adam Ford organized the recall effort. He said, "He's my councilman. I'm disappointed in the failed leadership we have in Flint. I was a supporter until this (emergency manager) thing came up. I thought they should have just done their job." The petition language stated "City Councilman Joshua M. Freeman voted for a state takeover."[1]

Freeman's response

Freeman said, "I'm going to go out and I'm going to vigorously defend my name and reputation on the City Council."[2]

Path to the ballot

Petition language against Freeman was approved,[1] but signatures were never submitted.
