A vote about whether to recall Adam Colby from his position as Assessor of Coos County, Oregon took place on December 7, 2010.[1]

The December 7th recall election resulted in the recall of Colby.[2]

  • Votes to recall Colby: 8,251 Approveda
  • Votes to keep Colby: 5,528

Colby came under fire because "of personnel controversies within his office that has resulted in terminations and in some instances tort claims against the county."[1]

In the summer of 2010, the Coos County Board of Commissioners mailed Colby a six-page letter that spoke of "future extraordinary measures" if Colby failed to address the issues the board identified as existing in his office. The issues had led to more than $200,000 in legal fees to defend the office against a variety of employee lawsuits.[2]

Larry Rescorla was a leader in the effort to collect the signatures required to force a recall election.[3]
