Subject: Prefer the 2nd edition over the 3rd
Oh Scott, why did you have to rip the book down to the foundations and re-buid it? The second edition contained some magic in it, which was lost in the third edtion. I've analysed it over the years, and I think from the second edition it was possible to learn most of C++ just by reading the book if you knew another programming language beforehand. Whereas the third edition took alot of the basics for granted and so was not as educational. Still you are one of the great writers on computation like Joel S, Michael A, Larry W and it was ashame also you didnt write more
