How much you will enjoy this movie will depend entirely on how much you'll be able to accept the dream sequences' increasing influence.
It is a decent story with nice art, enjoyable characters and general good execution. Not overly dramatic, even if the story definitely has a serious touch. Definitely something you can sit down to just relax and enjoy. Do stay for the credits. Those extra scenes at the end felt more than worth it to me.

Morikawa Kokone, who lives with her father in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, keeps having the same dream when she dozes off. Meanwhile, the police suddenly arrest her father three days before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Kokone finds it hard to believe that her father is involved in any wrongdoing, and she realizes that her dreams hold the key for resolving the situation.

This movie looks to me like a sort of juxtaposition of "near-future realistic sci-fi" and a "fairy tale sci-fi". The story takes place in the "real world" and in the girl's dreams where she's something akin to a magical girl through the use of a tablet PC. In the real world, the tablet is also a pivotal item around which much of the plot revolves. As far as production values go, there's nothing here to scoff at. For a movie, I'd say it's pretty well average. Plot-wise, however, a lot of "things" happen, but I'm not convinced that I actually saw a "story". A little bit of adventure, a little bit of fairy-tale-like action. Fans of mahou shoujo, fairy tales, or very basic scientific thrillers may find this movie interesting, but I'm not quite sure what other people to recommend it to. Overall, it's a fun watch, but didn't leave much impact in my mind.
