The Rutland & Derby is located in Leicester City's Cathedral Quarter and is part of the independent 'Beautiful Pubs' collective.
Located just off the beaten track on Millstone Lane, The R&D is well known as the place meet, eat & drink and be merry.
As a vibrant city pub we pride ourselves on doing things well from pulling a well-kept pint of local craft beer & mixing original cocktails using artisan spirits to producing delicious quirky pub food using the very best produce & serving it with care & flair.

The R&D is in close walking distance to Leicester's popular Cathedral as well as the new King Richard III Visitor Centre, The Curve theatre & the Leicester Tiger's ground. Our location makes us the perfect spot for informal business lunches and meetings.

Here at The R&D we have built a reputation for serving consistently great tasting, innovative pub food. A major part of this, is the indefatigable energy that our chefs put into the sourcing of high quality produce and ingredients.
Our meats are sourced from no further afield than Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire or Lincolnshire by our award winning butchers and are ethically reared and properly hung and our seafood is delivered fresh daily and sourced from MSC, certified sustainable seafood fisheries.
Our commitment to using seasonal British produce with high ethical welfare has previously earned us commendation and accreditation from assured food standards.
Our food menu is developed around our founder Sam's vision of ethically sourced, innovative & cared for pub food & is prepared & served daily by our brigade.
