Powers/Abilities: The Vicious Vine
appeared to be much
like an overgrown plant. It was faster than it appeared and could grasp
and
entangle objects and people with its vines. Being a plant, it
presumably could
gain sustenance from sunlight via photosynthesis and was especially
prone to
fire.
History:
(Fantastic Four in "Vicious Vine") - The Fantastic Four discovered the Vicious Vine attacking a space center and entered the fight against it. The giant plant swiftly grabbed Mr. Fantastic with its tendrils but Mr. Fantastic stretched and fought back. The Thing then entered the fray, pulling apart the creature, and the Human Torch shortly thereafter set the Vicious Vine on fire, effectively halting its rampage.

The
Kenner Give-a-Show Projector
slides stated copyright 1968, meaning that Marvel owns the characters.
While
the Vicious Vine was burnt,
his carcass was still present in the last panel. Perhaps the following
year, he
regrew (much like a flower or tree) and could still be alive somewhere
... maybe on
Monster Island.
The
Vicious Vine was not named as
such in the story but rather, only in the story's title.
