Louis SahaBorn in Paris, prolific forward Louis quickly progressed through the youth ranks at FC Metz, playing his first competitive game aged 19 against Montpellier in 1997.
Despite making his breakthrough at an early age, he found his first-team opportunities limited and moved to Newcastle United on loan in 1999.
The experience proved invaluable for Louis as his improved performances on his return to France led to a move back to England with Fulham in 2000.
After a prolific four-year spell at Craven Cottage, Louis’s forward play drew the attention of Manchester United who he joined in January 2004.
He continued his impressive strike rate at Old Trafford, netting 42 goals in 124 appearances and winning the Carling Cup, Premier League and Champions League along the way.
Louis joined Everton for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2008 and he became a fan’s favourite at Goodison Park, scoring some vitals goals, including the fastest FA Cup Final goal in history in the 2-1 defeat against Chelsea after just 25 seconds.
Louis moved south to Tottenham Hotspur in January 2012 and impressed during his limited appearances, including an terrific display against former club Newcastle, scoring twice in a 5-0 victory.
The confident, easy-going Frenchman left White Hart Lane at the end of the season and moved to Sunderland in August 2012 after scoring 153 goals in 456 appearances through his career.
Louis has also represented his country, France, 20 times, scoring four goals.
