The storyline reaches an explosive climax in tonight's episode of Eastenders.
And, to mark the occasion, we talked live to the actress who plays Chrissie - Tracy Ann Oberman.
She revealed that after 18 tempestuous months, she's about to leave Albert Square.
But, the writers will leave open the possibility that Chrissie, the archetypal survivor, will return to Walford at some future stage.
